Bus Route Cancelations/Delays for: March 2024  

For HIGH SCHOOL and MIDDLE SCHOOL Students: Bus Routes CANCELLED:

Chipmunk Bus #376 is delayed only x10 minutes today, March 22, 2024 

For ELEMENTARY Students: Bus Routes DELAYED ONLY (Please see below for more information re: 2nd Bus Run Option):

Bus Route Cancelations:
Due to the continual shortage of bus drivers and transportation staff, on certain days when not enough drivers are available in the morning due to illness/time off, a decision is made to cancel specific bus routes. An attempt is made not to impact one route more than another to minimize the inconvenience for students and families. A notification (phone call, text, email) is sent to parents as soon as possible, with the goal of informing them by 6:15 am so alternate plans can be made by families. If students are unable to attend school for the day due to lack of transportation, please notify your child’s school office so arrangements can be made for their instructional plan for the day.  

Parents of students in Grades 6-12 on the bus: Please notify your child's school office if you cannot transport your child to school so arrangements can be made for their instructional plan for the day. Please call the appropriate school office at:

Parents of Students in Grades K-5 on the bus: Please notify your child’s school office if you cannot transport your child to school so arrangements can be made for their instructional plan for the day. Please call the appropriate school office at:

• Milton Terrace Elementary School: 518-884-7210

Elementary Bus Routes – 2nd Bus Run Option:
The Transportation Department will provide a second bus run for the K-5 students who may have had their original bus run cut due to a driver shortage when possible. This second AM bus run will pick up elementary students at their normal bus stop up to one hour later than their regularly scheduled pick-up time. The bus will have the same animal’s name as the bus they normally ride (but the number may differ). 

The afternoon bus run for these students will leave the school at least ~30 minutes later than normal departure time, so you can anticipate that the students will be arriving home approximately ~30 minutes later than normal.  Alternatively, parents may pick up students at dismissal. Please contact the main office at your child's school (at the number noted above) if picking up after school.

Bus Route Changes:
*Rhinoceros Bus #403 - in order to decrease some difficulties with transportation, these students have been reassigned to another bus to help decrease the number of transportation cancelations. The changes are as follows:

• Those who live in the Woodfield Blvd area will ride the Kangaroo bus (399). That bus parks in slot 7 at the High School / Middle School. {Driver Ms Julie}

• Those who live on Collamer Dr, Little Drive or along Cramer Rd will ride the Rooster bus (386). That bus parks in slot 18 at the High School / Middle School. {Driver Ms Sherri}

• Those who live on Ellsworth Blvd or at Blue Heron will ride the Swan bus (333). That bus parks in slot 20 at the High School / Middle School. {Driver Ms Amy Jo}
