Improvements to the Malta Avenue Elementary School are located within the Grove Street section of the building (1920s). This area was not included during upgrades to the other parts of the building in 2013-14.

The proposal includes restoration projects in the auditorium (including new seating), gymnasium, and kitchen, as well as renovations to outdated classrooms, removal of old lockers and corridor finish upgrades (floors, ceilings, painting).
