Asking Questions

  • Asking Questions

Careful readers constantly ask questions before, during, and after reading. Questioning provides a purpose for reading and keeps the reader engaged in the text. Questions are answered many different ways: in the text, from prior knowledge, inferences, and further research.  Some questions may not be able to be answered.  Using the questions below is a great way to keep your child engaged in reading, whether it's independently or during a time when you're reading together.
