Ballston Spa Central School District teacher receives Educator of Excellence Award

The New York State English Council (NYSEC) recently presented Mrs. Tina DeFabio from the Ballston Spa High School English Department with an Educator of Excellence Award at their annual conference awards ceremony. According to their website, the NYSEC presents the award annually to honor the work and professionalism of English Language Arts educators. Further, “The Awards Ceremony is one way NYSEC shows its appreciation for the award winners and how they inspire excellence in everyone, students and teachers alike." The award winners are recognized for showing a commitment to excellence, innovation, and creativity in teaching, mentoring, and learning.

“We admire and are proud of Tina as well as our past NYSEC Educator of Excellence recipients for their dedication and commitment to continuously improving their skills as a teacher and dedication to the success of their students,” indicated Dr. Gianleo Duca, Superintendent of the Ballston Spa Central School District.

Mrs. DeFabio was nominated by a parent in the district as well as her colleagues.
