Ballston Spa Educator Receives TCT Teacher of the Week Award TCT Federal Credit Union has presented Christine Santandrea at Gordon Creek Elementary School with their Teacher of the Week award.

The award is based on personal nominations sent in from students, parents and peers. This award is a public recognition award recognizing those who are effective, caring and provide outstanding results observed by the school community, the students and their families. 

"They say that there is both a science and an art to teaching…and 5th Grade Teacher Mrs. Santandrea has mastered both!  She is an incredibly hard-working, dedicated and humble educator who goes above and beyond for both her students and her colleagues. Mrs. Santandrea is quick to adapt to her student’s specific needs and is talented at connecting with her students and teaching them in creative and engaging ways."

Jeannie Dickinson, Community Relations Manager at TCT FCU, recently visited the school to announce the award and congratulate Mrs. Santandrea. This recognition includes a plaque, some prizes and gift cards from area businesses and TCT FCU. This award is sponsored by Adirondack Broadcasting and TCT Federal Credit Union as well as supported by businesses throughout Warren, Washington and Saratoga counties. 

TCT FCU is a HUGE supporter of both the students and school staff in the Ballston Spa Central School District, providing not only this award but also financial support for the district’s Sponsor-a-Scholar program, the Scotties BackPack program and STEM enrichment initiatives during the past year.
